Integrated Actuators Made Simple with Python

A new technology advance has led to the introduction of new actuators that combine motor, drive, gearing, and feedback into a single CANopen device that relieves much of the burden of traditional motion control integration.

The use of Python’s referenced code repository, or repo, makes it possible. It can be used as an example for a soft real-time control interface, providing a flexible and approachable way to command motion, monitor state, and prototype control logic for initial bench-top validation. This session will demonstrate how, using the example of Integrated Drive Technology (IDT) from Harmonic Drive.
