Thunderbolt Manufacturing was founded in 1990 by Minh Son To and Frank McMaster after years of friendship and mentorship. Minh Son To came to the United States in 1984 with only the clothes on his back and he made a life for himself in Westminster, Ca., where he attended school and learned English. In 1986 Minh Son To worked as a machinist helper at a machine shop in Fullerton, Ca.. There he met Frank McMaster, the shop foreman. Frank noticed Minh Son To's eagerness to learn.
