New mounting system for accuracy of fit
Mounting the sensor using fitting sleeves automatically aligns the sensor in the correct position. This enables both easy sensor replacement and even higher precision in solving measurement tasks. The sensor requires only 70x31x45 mm of space. In particular thickness measurements involving two optoNCDT 1900 sensors reveal the benefits of this mounting system, as the light points can be aligned exactly.

Learn Why Eddy-Current Sensors Are Now Replacing Inductive Sensors and Switches
Both eddy-current sensors as well as inductive switches and displacement sensors have been used for many years, each having their respective advantages when it comes to measuring position and displacement of objects in harsh environments. However, recent advances in eddy-current sensor design, integration and packaging, as well as overall cost reduction, have made these sensors a much more attractive option. This is especially true where high linearity, high-speed measurements and high resolution are critical requirements.
How to Reach Unrivaled Precision in Distance and Thickness Measurements with Confocal Sensors
Confocal chromatic measuring systems are increasingly used for fast distance and thickness measurements. Different sensor and controller models open versatile fields of application, e.g. in the semiconductor industry, glass industry, medical engineering and plastics production. The unique optical confocalDT measurement system from Micro-Epsilon is based on the optical measuring principle, which specifically takes advantage of the so-called chromatic aberration of light. This refers to the different refraction of light in relation to its wavelengths. It measures distances by means of wavelength (spectrometry).
Non-contact temperature measurement of plastics
In plastics processing where thermal processes play a particularly important role, temperature is the crucial measurement parameter. Only precise temperature control ensures high, consistent product quality. Micro-Epsilon provides suitable measurement technology from a single source for almost any material or polymer.
Learn how capacitive sensors open up new perspectives
Conventional capacitive sensors are known from simple tasks e.g. as proximity sensor or for fill level measurements. With corresponding design and evaluation electronics, these sensors can also be used for high precision displacement and position measurements, achieving resolutions well below one nanometer. Capacitive displacement sensors are typically used in applications where fast displacement changes have to be acquired, where no forces can be exerted on the measurement object, where highly sensitive surfaces do not allow any contact, or where a long service life of the sensor is required. Capacitive displacement sensors from Micro-Epsilon have proven themselves in various industries and measurement tasks.
Precisely Measure Temperature from a Distance with Non-Contact Infrared Pyrometers
Monitoring and regulating temperature is an essential part of a wide range of industrial processes. Accurate management of this key parameter can ensure optimal process efficiency, high-quality output and safe operation. There are two broad categories of temperature measurement instruments: contact and non-contact. Non-contact pyrometers have fast response times. They are the instruments of choice for processes that rapidly change in temperature. Pyrometers also work well when measuring the temperatures of moving or inaccessible objects or surfaces that should not be touched. They are capable of non-destructively obtaining the temperature of a particular target without influencing the object or subjecting it to mechanical wear. In this paper you will learn more about how to use non-contact infrared pyrometers and about applications.
