Planar motors are smart conveying robots that use magnetic forces for levitation and propulsion. A planar motor system is composed of one or more movers (XBOT) and stationary modular tiles (Flyway). Each XBOT is independently controlled and hovers over Flyways with 6 degrees-of-freedom motion capability. The system does not require any lubrication nor generates any contamination. It is ideal for applications ranging from clean to harsh environments.
