LAMATEK was founded in October of 1983 by friends Kyle Larsson and Bob Carlson, who were experienced in manufacturing and finance but found themselves underemployed and unchallenged by their current situation. Starting out in an 1800 sq. ft. garage located in Kresson, NJ, Bob’s expertise was in the design and fabrication of converting equipment. Kyle ran the business side, performing all sales and administration functions. Early on, banks were not very generous to the fledgling business and their first major loan was granted by Kyle’s father, Karl Larsson, to purchase additional processing equipment.
