Ask the Expert: Three Electric Vehicle Battery Inspection Challenges and How to Solve Them
In electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing, battery packaging is a crucial part of the assembly process. Individual battery cells, each comprised of an anode, cathode, and separator immersed in an electrolyte fluid, must be assembled into battery modules. These modules are then assembled into the battery pack housing, which undergoes a “marriage” process when the system is joined to the car body.
During this process, manufacturers must ensure that no foreign objects or substances make their way onto any battery components. This article presents three major challenges in EV battery packaging inspection and offers a solution for each.
