The HELI-CAL® Flexure used as a machined spring is a single piece
of material machined into a spring configured as either a compression,
extension, torsion, lateral translation or lateral bending spring, to specific
design requirements that provide more precise performance, features and
functions than other more traditional types of springs. Manufactured in a wide
range of materials from titanium, stainless steel, MP35N, Inconel, etc. The integration of
flanges, geometric shapes (squares, hexes, rounds, etc.), bearing seats, valve
seats, gears, splines, bell-crank arms, internal and external threads, and
other machinable shapes is available to the machine spring designer. The
incorporation of these features into a single piece solution reduces the number
of parts needed in an assembly and simplifies installation.
The possibility of integrated attachments and multiple-start coil configurations (for squareness-under-load) give an endless array of solutions, offering engineers new levels of possibilities in their designs. Helical Product’s team of Application Engineers are ready to assist in the design of a machined spring to your specific requirements.
A New Angle on U-Joints
The HELI-CAL® “Flexure” is an advanced and unique u-joint solution that generally exceeds the capabilities of common u-joint designs. A HELI-CAL® u-joint is really a flexure capable of over 5°of angular misalignment. It may accommodate up to 90° of angular misalignment in certain circumstances. This type of u-joint will also compensate for axial and parallel misalignment.
Generate Only Enhancement Program
As the old adage tells us, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. While this bit of wisdom applies to a wide variety of situations, it rings particularly true for components in an engineered system. Each part has a role to play and an essential burden to bear. From medical machinery components to aerospace applications, one common weakness can create critical failure: EXCESSIVE RIGIDITY. A universal problem calls for a universal solution; one that provides essential flexibility for all of your precisely designed components. This solution is our proprietary Heli-Cal® Flexure technology, implemented through our unique Generate Only product enhancement program. Our Flexure helps prevent premature component wear, likelihood of damage, motor seizure, bearing failure, elimination of vibration failures, compensation for coefficient linear expansion, and many other benefits.
