The collaborative adaptive machine
B&R is the first manufacturer of intelligent track systems to introduce human-track collaboration. Five integrated safety functions allow humans to work directly alongside the track with no safety barriers – without impairing productivity. Track-based adaptive machines are often synchronized with robots, and with the introduction of safe control functions, adaptive machines can now operate in collaborative workspaces alongside humans and cobots. Robots are themselves adaptive. Their behavior is fully defined by software, so this is a logical combination of technologies.
New model-based control functions for B&R servo drives
B&R has added three new model-based control functions for its ACOPOS P3 servo drive. The functions are available in B&R's Automation Studio engineering environment and allow for more precise control performance that increases machine productivity and speed. Reducing vibrations and oscillations extends the service life of machine components and reduces maintenance costs. Read more here.
A fully integrated robotics and automation solution
B&R now offers ABB robots as an integral part of its automation system. Customers benefit from unprecedented precision in synchronization between robotics and machine control. The unified architecture’s unparalleled flexibility and performance will enable manufacturers to embrace the trends of mass customization and batch-size-one production.
