Trio Motion Technology is an engineering company that designs and manufactures high-performance machine controllers specializing in servo and stepper motion controls from 1 to 64 axes, used in factory automation worldwide.
Trio controllers come in a variety of packages to meet every need. Compact stand-alone modules incorporate quick-connect screw terminals with no breakouts required. Board level controllers offer high performance in a compact low cost arrangement. For very specific needs Trio offers cost-effective custom controller designs, such as embedded controllers or option cards that can fit inside products such as servo and stepper drives, I/O systems, dispensing systems and medical devices.
For motion control, Trio controllers use a variety of drive interfaces including +/-10V analog servo, step & direction, EtherCAT, RTEX, CANopen, and SERCOS. Programming is done using Trios easy to use feature-rich multi-tasking Trio BASIC language set. The latest MC4xx range also support programming standard IEC-61131-3 for Ladder Diagram (LD), Sequential Function Chart (SFC), Functional Block (FB), and Structured Text (ST). Programs can be written in any language, or combination of languages that best suit the application. Using the IEC standard, engineers and maintenance personnel will find it easier working between different platforms from different manufacturers that also supporting the standard.
Trio controllers accommodate simple or complex motion functions from basic incremental moves to electronic camming, gearing, linear, circular, and spherical interpolation using a high-level commands. The high-level commands make is easy to perform very sophisticated processes.
Trio controllers also support many industry standard protocols and field buses such as; EtherNet/IP, Ethernet TCP/IP, Profibus, DeviceNet, CC-Link, ModBus RTU, RS232/485 ASCII, Modbus/TCP. A high-speed CAN interface (standard) is used to expand base I/O to over 1000 digital and analog points, but can also be under user control for direct interface to pneumatics or any CAN supported device.
