NI Joins the Industrial Internet Consortium to Change the Future of IoT

Here at NI, we know that if you can turn it on, connect it, drive it, or launch it, chances are NI technology helped make it happen. As the Internet of Things (IoT) evolves to become more mainstream, NI is still committed to closing the gap between vision and implementation.

As we discussed at this year’s NIWeek conference, we work very closely with customers who are creating countless “things” in the industrial internet and the consumer internet, from smart factories to smart cars. These customers face a constant demand to provide flexible solutions that accelerate productivity.

We can’t ignore the fact that IoT is widely fragmented, with various standards and certifications required for applications to communicate, exchange data, and use the information to its fullest extent. There is a stronger need than ever to collaborate on the network that makes IoT a reality. Today we are pleased to share that NI has joined the IIC (Industrial Internet Consortium) to drive the right conversations forward and help customers bring IoT applications to industry faster.

This is a very exciting time for NI and our customers, as we meet the engineering challenges of IoT. It’s a big moment for the industry and requires everyone to come together to discuss these challenges, as we believe that no single company or engineer can solve these problems alone.

Now more than ever, the opportunities with IoT require you and NI to work together to build the future. We’re eager to engage with the members of IIC, including AT&T, Cisco, GE, and Intel. As we work together, we plan to keep the NI community up-to-date with developments and advancements that IIC will bring to table.
