LensMechanix is a powerful SOLIDWORKS add-in from Zemax designed for mechanical engineers who work with optical engineers. LensMechanix transforms collaboration between optical and mechanical engineers by streamlining the workflow, reducing development iterations, and simplifying information exchange.

For the first time, mechanical engineers can:

- Load complete optical assemblies from OpticStudio into SOLIDWORKS without using STEP, IGES, or STL file formats, saving significant time and dramatically reducing errors.
- Within minutes, start designing the mechanical components from actual lens data.
- Run a ray trace in SOLIDWORKS, incorporating both optical and mechanical components.
- Analyze and validate designs without relying on an OpticStudio user or static ray bundles. Users can view impact to image quality, identify and correct stray light, show contrast, and check for beam clipping
- Create an OpticStudio output file of the complete optomechanical design to send to the optical engineer for final validation.

The result is better products made faster at a lower cost—and much happier engineers.
