At Eone, we believe that good design is not exclusive but inclusive. It is universal. Good design considers everyone -- from all backgrounds and walks of life.

Our debut product is a tactile watch. Designed in collaboration with the visually impaired, the tactile timepiece has proved to work better for all users. Who hasn't found themself in a scenerio— meetings, movie theaters, dinner with the in-laws—where they couldn't look at the time? Afterall, telling time shouldn't require sight.

The contemporary wristwatch is an amazing feat of engineering, yet it still relies exclusively on sight. Checking the time is still a major challenge for the visually impaired and hinders daily activities like getting to work and attending events. We are fixing this by designing a timepiece that considers everyone.

Why are there no good watches for the blind? Mainstream businesses mostly think of disabled populations as separate markets and overlook their needs. This separation creates significant, unintended barriers in developing assistive products.

Our goal is to build a bridgehead for linking together seemingly disparate groups— the blind and the non-blind—by creating products with inclusive design. We believe expanding the practice of inclusive design principles in creating mainstream products is an effective solution for dissolving this unintended barrier. It will not only provide greater accessibility to the disabled, but will invite them to become equal participants in our society.

Our debut product, THE BRADLEY, is named after ex-Naval Officer Bradley Snyder, who lost his eyesight in an IED explosion in Afghanistan in 2011. Bradley competed in and won gold and silver medals in swimming at the 2012 Paralympics. Along with many visually impaired users, Brad had supported and provided invaluable feedback through the development of our timepiece.
